Abstract
This study provided an overview of the development status and limitations of agritourism activities in Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue province. The survey process was based on interview data from 30 households participating in agritourism. The results showed that the income from agritourism contributed about 9.4% of the total household income. Tourism services have included retailing agri-products and providing farming experiences, but accommodation facilities have still been lacking. When assessing the role of stakeholders, 83.4% of households believed that the linkage and mutual support between agritourism households were the most important factor for the success of this livelihood activity. However, the development of agritourism was still limited due to the lack of supportive policies from the government. In order to ensure the sustainable development of agritourism, local authorities should have more mechanisms to encourage and enhance close cooperation relationships between stakeholders.
