Abstract

The study on the effect of sulfur dosage on growth indicators, pest and disease situation, material accumulation and distribution, yield components, yield and economic efficiency of hybrid maize NK7328 was conducted in the Spring crop of 2021 in Huong Van, Huong Tra, Thua Thien Hue to determine the role and appropriate dosage of sulfur fertilization for maize. The experiment consisted of 9 treatments arranged in a completely randomized block design (RCBD). The results showed that on the basis of fertilizer 10 tons of manure + 185 kg N + 100 kg P2O5 and 120 kg K2O per hectare, applying sulfur in the form of ammonium sulfate (SA) for hybrid maize NK7328 has increased the growth indicators of stems and leaves, increased material accumulation and yield but did not affect the pest and disease. At the 80 kg S/ha fertilizer formula, the biomass yield and grain yield were the highest and the most effective. Biomass yield reached 55.88 tons/ha, profit increased by 7.36 million VND/ha and VCR reached 14.91; Seed yield reached 6.47 tons/ha, profit increased by 11.00 million VND/ha and VCR reached 22.08 when compared to the control.
